What is the difference between Forms 1098 & 1099-INT?

Form 1098—also known as Mortgage Interest Statement—is used to report the amount of interest and related expenses you paid on your mortgage during the tax year. The purpose of a Form 1099-INT, on the other hand, is to record types of income received from sources other than your employer. In the case of Carrington, a 1099-INT is required to be issued if you earned $10.00 or more in interest on your escrow account in a given tax year.
